It’s been almost 13 months since my last blog post and just over one year since Lincoln and I uprooted ourselves and our family and moved back to Charlottesville, Virginia. What a year it has been! Lincoln and I joke that we enjoy doing things the hard way and last year was a testament to that. “How hard could it be to move across country with a two-year old, an infant, two cats, all of our stuff and then establish our businesses in a new town?!” we asked ourselves. Well, I’ll be the first to tell you that it was pretty hard. Definitely no cake walk. However, we made it through our first year back East, our first year as parents of two children, and I like to think that we are even better for it. As we approached the anniversary of our move, I debated on what on what direction to go with my photography business. While Charlottesville has a great wedding industry, I kept feeling like it was time for my business to move on from weddings and focus on portraiture.
So, the sad news is that we are no longer accepting wedding or engagement photo bookings. The good news is that I’m really excited to grow my portrait business in Charlottesville. In Oregon, I had a solid base of portrait clients who, over the years, began to feel like family. I look forward to building that family here. Over the next month or so, I’m going to be making some changes to my website and putting up some fresh portrait images. I’m really excited to share these changes with you, so please stay tuned! In the meantime, I am currently accepting portrait clients, so please contact me if you would like book your session.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope that all of you are well and will continue to stay in touch with us and check back. Thank you to everyone who supported us in our move and during our transition to the East Coast. I’m really excited for what lies ahead!
