As a wedding photographer, I enjoy engagement sessions because it gives me an opportunity to get to know the couple and learn more about their personalities, their interests, how they met, and maybe how they were engaged. During their session, Lisa and Jimmy told us their engagement story. I was impressed by the planning and creativity that Jimmy put into his proposal and asked if Lisa would give her account of the night that they were engaged to post on this week’s Spotlight. Many thanks to Lisa for sharing this sweet story with us. Have an excellent weekend, everyone!
From Lisa: Around Christmas, Jimmy took me to one of my favorite restaurants near the park blocks for dinner. After we had finished dessert, the waiter brings me a paper snowflake that says “On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me…” I ask Jimmy what it is and he says it’s my Christmas present, a scavenger hunt and this is the first clue. He takes me into the park blocks and tells me we are looking for paper snowflakes. At the fountain in the park, I find a snowflake and a silver basket and an ornament representing our trip to Victoria, Canada we had taken. We go through the park blocks finding snowflakes and ornaments, each representing a memorable moment in our relationship. To go with his 12 days of Christmas theme he had picked the 12 most memorable moments in our relationship. We make our way to the block outside my condo and there is an ornament of the Eiffel Tower. Which represents where it all started, Jimmy saw a picture of me in front of the Eiffel Tower on Match.com and decided he wanted to get to know me…and then he said there was one more, pulled the ring out of his pocket and got down on his knee and asked me to marry him….and I said yes!
